Returns and Exchanges

None of the dresses at Nisikids is a ready-made item taken from stock; each one is sewn individually to the measurements you have approved. That makes returns and exchanges different from off-the-peg clothing. Below we explain how it works as clearly as we can; if anything is still unclear, the quickest thing is to write on WhatsApp.

What made-to-measure means

Your dress is cut after the order is placed and sewn only to the measurements you have given. Because the fabric is cut to those measurements, the finished piece is not a standard item that would fit another child.

For that reason, with made-to-measure pieces the process works differently from sending back a dress from a rail. The most critical stage is the approval of the measurements before sewing begins.

Our current policy

As every piece is custom-made, we finalise the measurements with your approval. If there's any issue caused by our tailoring, we fix it free of charge.

In other words, if there is a fault arising from the stitching, the cut or the workmanship, we take the dress back into the atelier and put it right at no charge. In such a case we first ask to see the problem in a photo, then decide together how to proceed.

  • The measurements are finalised with your approval
  • We put right any fault arising from the sewing at no charge
  • When you notice a problem, write on WhatsApp without delay

Why the measurement approval matters so much

The measurement approval is where sewing starts. From the moment you approve, the fabric is cut to those measurements, and that is a step which is hard to undo.

So take your time before approving. If there is anything you are unsure about while measuring, photograph how you are holding the tape and send it to us so we can check together. If your child is going through a growth spurt and the dress will be worn at a later date, tell us that too, and we will take it into account.

A poor fit caused by measurements given incorrectly is a different matter from a fault in the sewing. Even so, do write to us; let us talk openly about whether an alteration can save the dress.

What to do when you notice a problem

When the dress reaches you, open the parcel carefully and check it without delay. Trying it early rather than waiting for the big day buys time if something needs to be put right.

Describe what you have noticed on WhatsApp and, if you can, send clear photos taken in daylight. We will work out the cause together, and if the dress needs to come back to the atelier we will explain how we will proceed.

Please ask us before having the dress altered elsewhere; once a piece has been worked on, what we can do may be limited.

FAQ

Common questions

If I do not like the dress, can I return it?

Because the dresses are made to measure, there is no returns flow of the kind you find in off-the-peg clothing. So that the model and its details match what you expect, we go through every detail on WhatsApp before the order.

What happens if the dress is too tight or too loose?

Write to us and send a photo. If it comes from the sewing, we put it right at no charge. If the fit comes from the measurements, we talk openly about what is possible and set out your options.

Can I exchange it for a different size?

Since every dress is cut to one set of measurements, we do not work by swapping it for another size off a rail. Write and tell us the situation, and we will look together at whether an alteration can be made to the dress.

I realised afterwards that I gave the wrong measurements, what should I do?

Write on WhatsApp straight away. If sewing has not started yet, it can usually be corrected. So if something is on your mind after approving the measurements, do not wait.

If anything is unclear, write to us

Ask us on WhatsApp about anything on your mind, whether before you approve the measurements or after you receive the dress. We will look at it together and tell you plainly what can be done.
