Tulle Girls' Party Dresses

Tulle is a fine fabric made by knitting threads into a net, and light passes through it. On its own it is almost weightless; the volume it gives a dress comes not from the thickness of the fabric but from how many layers are laid over one another. In layered tulle princess models the skirt stands fuller, while in the simple models made with a single layer the fall is softer and more flowing.

On a child, tulle ripples gently as she walks and turns, and it does not leave permanent creases when she sits down and gets up again. That makes it a comfortable choice for long ceremonies and for settings where the child will be playing. Do not let the iron touch the tulle directly, but give it steam from a distance; and if you hang the dress on a wide-shouldered hanger instead of folding it, the layers settle under their own weight and the volume of the skirt keeps its shape.
