The work we take on

Our field is narrow and we keep it that way on purpose: party and ceremony wear for girls. Full-skirted party dresses, henna and engagement dresses, graduation and performance outfits and special-occasion sets all fall within it.

We do not take on work outside that field. Everyday ready-to-wear, boys' suits, adult collections and knitwear are not what our workbench is for. If that is what you need, saying so at the outset saves both of us time.

Patterns and sampling

If you already have a pattern, we work with it. If you do not, we draft the design from a technical drawing, a photograph or a sample piece you send us, and sew a sample from it. Which route to take becomes clear in the first conversation.

The sample is the most critical step. You hold it and judge the stitching, the lining, the finish inside and the way the fabric falls; we take your revision requests and, if needed, produce a second sample. The sample you approve becomes the reference for all the production that follows.

In the normal course of things, the preparation time for a single dress is 7-14 days. A sample comes out at the same rhythm; if the design involves a great deal of trim or an unusual technique, we discuss the timing at the outset and give you a realistic date.

Fabric and materials

There are two routes with fabric. If your label has its own fabric, lining and trims, you send them to us and we take on the sewing alone. In that case the width and length calculations and the wastage need to be worked out together at the outset.

The second route is for us to source the fabric and the trims. In that case we show you suitable options and make the decision together. Since the route chosen has a direct effect on the schedule, we settle it in the first conversation.

Colour consistency matters especially. If a job involves more than one piece, the fabric has to come from the same batch; if we do not plan for that at the start, it is hard to put right later.

Quality control and delivery

Because the atelier is small, checking is done by one pair of hands as well. Every piece is gone over individually after sewing; the stitching, lining, zip and trims are checked for soundness, and the measurements for consistency. If a piece departs from the approved sample, we take it back in hand.

For delivery we ship anywhere in Turkey. If you are in Istanbul, you can collect from the atelier in Pendik; we are here on weekdays between 10:00 and 19:00. Depending on the size of the job, delivery in batches can also be discussed.

What being a small atelier means

Let us be honest: this is not a factory, it is a sewing atelier with a limited number of people. The advantage is that the work is followed by one pair of hands and that designs calling for detail really do come out with care. The drawback is that the number of jobs we can run at once is limited.

That is why we do not overpromise when we discuss schedules. Rather than accept a job we cannot finish in time, we prefer to say no; and on the jobs we do accept, we work to keep to the date we gave.
