Chiffon is a fine, slightly loosely woven fabric with a matte surface. Where tulle and organza build volume, chiffon does the opposite: it flows downwards and makes a long, soft line without wrapping the body. That is why what makes a chiffon dress striking is not fullness but the way the fabric ripples at its own rhythm as the child walks.
On a child, chiffon is barely felt; the weight falling from the shoulders is slight and it does not restrict movement at the arms or legs.
